~ Peace in the Storm ~
On our recent trip to the Highlands of Scotland where my Wife & I toured around for 2 weeks in our small campervan, we Experienced God's Amazing 'Peace' in 'Difficult Situations'.
Before we went we had made the decision that there would be No looking on the internet, No emails, definitely No TV, and text & phone calls would be only Essential and to let people know where we were. It was a 'Back to Nature' Experience where we could spend Quality Quiet time with God.
The majority of the 2 weeks we were Blessed with Great weather, and we Enjoyed Wonderful Experiences in God's Beautiful Creations. But there was a couple of days when we were in 'Stormy Weather'.
We were 300 miles from the house where we live, and our Home for 2 weeks was our small campervan.
One of the nights we stayed in Glencoe and the wind & rain was quite strong. When we woke the next day the wind was getting Very Gusty. Glencoe is a very open area so we decided it was best to continue to our next destination which was about 70 miles north.
After a while of driving the wind became Very Strong. We could see the Trees bending in the wind and the Leaves were swirling in the road in front of us like mini whirlwinds.
I asked God to 'Guide me' if we needed to stop.
I then felt a sense of God letting me know that 'He Will Protect us' and that we could keep driving. I felt Him Guiding me that we simply needed to 'Trust Him' and He will 'Take Care of us'.
I put my 'Complete Trust in God' and kept driving. If God Guided me to stop, I would stop.
As I drove, I felt a Wonderful sense of 'Peace as I drove through the Storm'.
It was an Amazing feeling as though God had placed a Protective Bubble around us. I could see the effects of the Storm around me, yet I felt 'Secure' and 'At Peace'.
It wasn't that I was being reckless, I was 'Fully Alert' & 'Very Focused' on my driving, yet at the same time, I was able to Enjoy the Beautiful Scenery around us, even in the Storm.
After a while we drove out of the Storm and continued driving to arrive Safely at a Beautiful Loch (Lake) where we stayed the night.
The clouds cleared and we were Blessed with a Beautiful Night Sky full of Millions of Twinkling Stars. It was so clear we could even see the Milky Way.
We stood in Awe of God's Amazing Creativity.
We Thanked God for Protecting us, and we Enjoyed His Blessing of the Beautiful Peaceful Night Sky.
My Wife said Thank You to me for driving as she would have been scared driving in that weather. I told her that I had Prayed to God to 'Guide me' with what to do and if I needed to stop, and that I put my Complete Trust in Him.
I told her how I felt God Guiding me that He would Protect us and we simply needed to Trust Him, and then the Wonderful feeling of 'Peace' that He gave me as I drove through the Storm.
A few days later we were parked up at a Lovely Place that we've been to many times, and we had planed to stay the night. The wind began to blow and it became Very Gusty. It got stronger and stronger and started rocking our campervan.
We asked God to Guide us and we both felt Him Guiding us to go somewhere else.
We knew of a small Woodland area about 10 miles away that should provide shelter, so we decided to drive there.
My Wife offered to drive and said that she knows the roads well so it would be a good place for her to Learn driving in windy conditions. I said I would drive as it was getting quite strong but my Wife insisted she wanted to do it.
We set off and after a while the weather became Extremely Stormy. It had now gone dark and was raining Very Heavy. The wind was blowing so strong that the rain was literally going Sideways. My Wife drove carefully along the narrow country road and was Very Focused on what she was doing.
There was a lot of branches on the road that had blown off the Trees, so we stopped for a while. We swapped over and I continued driving, and again I asked God to 'Guide me' what to do.
I was 'Very Proud' of my Wife for the way she drove in such Stormy weather, she did Fantastic and didn't panic, even when it got Very Stormy.
I felt Very Pleased for her that she had 'Overcome' one of her fears, and I know that God will be 'Very Proud' of her as well.
I continued driving as we needed to get to a safe place and as we got near the place we were looking for and we passed a sign for a Nature Reserve car park. We thought about sopping there the night, but we didn't know what is was like so carried on as we should have been close to the Woodland.
We came to an open area and the wind became Extremely Strong again with a wall of sideways rain in front of us, so I pulled up next to a banking for some shelter. I got a 'Very Strong' feeling that God was 'Seriously Guiding' me Not to go any further.
We asked God to 'Guide us' what to do, as we were now parked in our campervan at the side of a small country road at night with a Very Severe Storm around us.
We both felt God Guiding us to turn around and go back to the Nature Reserve to stay the night.
We put our Trust in God and drove to the car park. As we drove in the road went down a fairly steep hill into what's best described as a mini Glen, fully surrounded by Hills and Trees. The car park was at the bottom and there was hardly any wind there. We could see the tops of the Trees swaying and we could hear the roar of the wind, but it felt 'Very Calm & Protected'.
We had a Good sleep. We woke the next day and the 'Storm had Passed'.
My Wife told me that while she was 'Driving in the Storm', she did the same as what I had done a few days before, she asked God to 'Guide her' what to do, and then put her 'Full Trust in God'.
She told me she had the same Experience that I'd had, she got a Wonderful sense of 'Peace while driving in the Storm'.
We found out a few days later from some people we met while we were continuing Enjoying God's Amazing & Beautiful Creativity, that it had been a Very Big Storm across the UK, and it had blown Many Trees down and caused a Lot of damage.
We felt Truly Grateful to God for
